Because I’ve always wanted to play with one and it was $15. I never built my PC with a disc drive, and while casually browsing I noticed that li ght scribe ones were fairly cheap. The discs cost more than the drive.
I’ll report back to you all on this 15 year old tech once I get it installed and functioning

Way better than those stupid labels, however it took longer to burn the label than the files/music on the last one that I used circa 2008.

I do, obviously. R ight now I have a little mesh grille i n there for some extra airflow but I don’t really think it’s necessary so I’m finally putting a drive in there.

Fancy. I checked my drives and none are so equipped. As far as high-technology goes, I do have a blu-ray HD-DVD combo drive in my HTPC. No picking the wrong technology/definitely picking the wrong technology for me. Also last few times I tried using it for b lu-ray (6+ years ago), it blue screened the machine, so I’m not sure it really works...

I had a lightscribe drive on my first computer. I never got any lightscribe discs though. I tried it once with a regular
disk;
nope.
